Description: Sick, twisted and politically incorrect, the animated series features the adventures of the Griffin family. Endearingly ignorant Peter and his stay-at-home wife Lois reside in Quahog, R.I., and have three kids. Meg, the eldest child, is a social outcast, and teenage Chris is awkward and clueless when it comes to the opposite sex. The youngest, Stewie, is a genius baby bent on killing his mother and destroying the world. The talking dog, Brian, keeps Stewie in check while sipping martinis and sorting through his own life issues.

Seth MacFarlane has admitted that the family’s constant abuse of Meg is a result of “a bunch of male writers not knowing how to write for a teenage girl.”

Meg’s friends assumed her name was short for Megan. In reality, when Lois hands Meg’s birth certificate, to Peter, he alters it. Meg’s birth name is officially “Megatron Griffin”.

The show has been cancelled twice, once following the second season, which caused the show to not air a new episode for a year, and the second (and longest) being between the third and fourth seasons, from 2002 to 2005. The programme was the first to be brought back to air due to successful home media sales.
