Lyserg Diethel and his poppy fairy Morphine are both named after drugs. Morphine’s name is obvious and Lyserg Deithel is short for Lysergic Acid Diethylamide.

Lenny’s Japanese name is Ren and Morty’s Japanese name is Manta.

Rio’s Japanese name is Ryu and/or a.k.a Bukoto no Ryu (Ryu of the Wooden Sword).

The Minutians are actually called the Koropokkurs.

There were plans for a continuation for the anime but the creator turned it down due to the fact that they were not allowed to use the original sound track,

Hiroyuki Takei the creator worked on other Manga titles such as Karakuri Dôji Ultimo and Butsu Zone.

There are two different English dubbed versions of the anime. One being an edited for tv censored dub of the whole series which was produced by 4kids, while the other dub was an unfinished uncut version which was produced by 4kids and Funimation, and only had six episodes of the dub released.

Although the English dub which aired on tv had edited dialogue and scenes, it is known for having some of the least amounts of edits for a 4kids dub, as the anime still referenced death, guns, religion, and violence.

Eliza, Faust’s wife who was shot to death, had her bullet wound edited out in the English version of the Anime.
