Anybody But You teaser: Sydney Sweeney and Glen Powell turn up the heat in Will Gluck’s new comedy
Sydney Sweeney and Glen Powell are cranking up the heat in the new Anyone But You teaser from Sony Pictures Entertainment. Before making its way online, the brief promo for Will Gluck’s new comedy screened ahead of the money-printing concert film Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour. You could need a change of underoos before the teaser finishes. Please don’t say I didn’t want you.
In the Anyone But You teaser, Bea (Sydney Sweeney) and Ben (Glen Powell) make a pact to pass themselves off as a couple while attending a destination wedding in Australia. What starts as an oil and water rivalry quickly turns to butterflies and bulging swim trunks as the faux-couple acts the part. The story unfolds in Sydney, Australia, and follows the couple as they experience a variety of vacation-related mishaps, including falling from boats and discovering spiders down their pants. Have you seen the spiders in Australia? Eff that! Alexandra Shipp, GaTa, Dermot Mulroney, Rachel Griffiths, Michelle Hurd, Bryan Brown, Darren Barnet, and Hadley Robinson join the project as cast members.
Joe Roth, Jeff Kirschenbaum, and Gluck are producing, with Sweeney executive producing via Fifty-Fifty Films alongside Natalie Sellers, Alyssa Altman, and Jacqueline Monetta. Natalie Sellers and Alyssa Altman serve as executive producers through RK Films. Gluck and Ilana Wolpert wrote the screenplay.
Gluck is the genius behind the camera for films like Easy A, Friends With Benefits, and the Peter Rabbit franchise. He’s in the throes of developing End of the World, an action comedy he plans to direct and co-write with Chris Brenner. Gluck is also attached to an adaptation of Ubisoft’s hit video game series Just Dance. Gluck will direct and co-write Just Dance alongside AC Bradley.
Have you ever entered into a relationship in the interest of deception? How did that work out for you? Will Bea and Ben survive the wedding without biting each other’s heads off? Can they hide their disdain for one another while fooling everyone into thinking they’re a happy couple? Bea appears up to the task, but Ben could require convincing. Something tells me Bea’s powers of seduction will win out. What do you think? Let us know in the comments below!
Anyone But You opens in theaters on December 22, 2023.
