Paramount+ cancels Rabbit Hole and Fatal Attraction after one season apiece
Paramount+ is breaking up with two recent additions to its roster by canceling the Kiefer Sutherland spy drama Rabbit Hole and Fatal Attraction, starring Joshua Jackson and Lizzy Caplan. Paramount+ is in slash-and-burn mode, with the company removing titles as a cost-cutting measure.
“We want to thank both series’ entire creative teams, crews and the fantastic casts for their dedication to bringing these series to life,” said the Paramount+ spokesperson. “Both Fatal Attraction and Rabbit Hole will continue to be available on Paramount+ for audiences to discover.”
Rabbit Hole and Fatal Attraction join Paramount‘s other canceled series, including Real World: Homecoming, The Twilight Zone, Interrogation, Coyote, No Activity, Guilty Party, and The Harper House. More cancelations hit the streaming service in June, with Star Trek: Prodigy, Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies, Queen of the Universe, and The Game going the way of the dodo. Finally, iCarly was added to the list earlier this month.
In Rabbit Hole, Sutherland plays John Weir, known for being a master of deception. After a mysterious figure (Charles Dance) approaches Weir, informing him about the world he doesn’t know, it’s revealed that he’s been “framed for murder by powerful forces who have the ability to influence and control populations.” Meta Golding, Enid Graham, Jason Butler Harner, Rob Yang, and Walt Klink join Sutherland and Dance as primary cast members.
The Fatal Attraction series stars Lizzy Caplan as Alex Forrest, a woman who connects deeply with Dan Gallagher (Joshua Jackson) during a one-night stand. However, when Dan decides to end the affair, Alex has trouble letting go. When the project was first announced, it was described as a deep-dive reimagining of the psychosexual thriller that would explore themes including marriage and infidelity through the lens of modern attitudes towards strong women, personality disorders, and coercive control. In addition to Lizzy Caplan and Joshua Jackson, the Fatal Attraction series also stars Amanda Peet as Beth Gallagher, Alyssa Jirrels as Ellen Gallagher, Toby Huss as Mike Gerard, Reno Wilson as Detective Earl Booker, and Brian Goodman as Arthur Tomlinson.
