Damsel: Millie Bobby Brown’s fantasy action film releases new poster, Trailer to come this weekend
Millie Bobby Brown has expressed her interest in exploring projects outside of Stranger Things. Now that the immensely popular Netflix series will be coming to an end after its upcoming season, Brown views it like senior year of high school, and she’s eager to graduate into the unknown world after commencement. “I think I’m ready. It’s been such a huge factor in part of my life, but it’s like graduating high school, it’s like senior year. You’re ready to go and blossom and flourish and you’re grateful for the time you’ve had, but it’s time to create your own message and live your own life.”
While waiting for the final Stranger Things season, Brown still had the opportunity to work with Netflix on the Enola Holmes movies. She continues her working relationship with the streamer as the fantasy action film, Damsel, is her next feature set to be released. According to DigitalSpy, the movie was not able to make the October 13 release date this year, but Netflix has confirmed that the film will come out in 2024. Additionally, Netflix has started the promotion of the film with the unveiling of a new poster and the trailer is set to be released online this Saturday, November 11.
The synopsis of the film reads,
“A dutiful damsel agrees to marry a handsome prince, only to find the royal family has recruited her as a sacrifice to repay an ancient debt. Thrown into a cave with a fire-breathing dragon, she must rely on her wits and will to survive.” Alongside Brown, Damsel also stars Jurassic World‘s Nick Robinson, Angela Bassett and Ray Winstone.
One of the newest projects that Brown also has on the horizon is a post-apocalyptic tentpole film from Avengers directors, the Russo brothers, titled The Electric State, which brings her together with Chris Pratt. Brown glows about the new project, saying, “To be able to go toe-to-toe with Chris Pratt! It’s a very exciting opportunity that I never thought I’d be able to have, to be able to be treated the same as him and to be looked at and respected the same as him on the set by the production, by the studio.”
