Super Bowl ads
It’s no secret that the Super Bowl is not just a football event, but also one that companies capitalize on by shelling out the money for special big game ads while the eyes of America is locked on the channel. It’s a time for movies to release new looks at upcoming releases. But it’s also a time for businesses to get celebrities to draw attention to their products with humorous commercials. If you wanna check out the movie ads, you can watch them HERE. Now, check out some of the star-studded affairs that broadcast during last night’s defensive war.
Good Will Dunkin’
We’ve already shown you a pretty funny commercial with the cast of Jurassic Park exploring an alternate timeline. Now, check out Dunkin’s 90s-themed ad, where they repurposed Good Will Hunting into a sitcom with Ben Affleck stepping into the Will Hunting role and is joined by sitcom icons Jason Alexander, Ted Danson, Jaleel White, Alfonso Ribeiro, Matt LeBlanc, Jasmine Guy and Jennifer Aniston. Plus, there’s a special appearance by Tom Brady.
Unavailable
We recently reported on Yorgos Lanthimos reuniting with Emma Stone for a big game ad. Now, you can check out the full Squarespace commercial where the aesthetic is very artsy and almost German Expressionist. However, the plot is amusingly Emma Stone trying to register a website with her name and it’s not available.
Will Shat
William Shatner (looking really good for his age!) is back on a space bridge and transporting to different people in order to supply them with Kellogg’s Raisin Bran. Shatner is just as charismatic as he’s always been and he rebrands himself as “Will Shat” in this ad.
Bud Light Keg
What’s a Super Bowl without a beer ad? For this Bud Light commercial, Peyton Manning, Shane Gillis and Post Malone are guests at a wedding and looking for more beer. The only supply is from a keg that accidentally falls down a long hill and the entire wedding party chases after it and rolls down in spectacular fashion in slow motion while Whitney Houston’s “I Will Always Love You” provides the soundtrack.
Hungry for the Truth
Uber Eats would sport an ad that starred Bradley Cooper and Matthew McConaughey. McConaughey tries to convince Cooper (who is still cheering on his birds) that the Super Bowl is all a ploy to sell food and names all the food-related players or terms involved with the game. Parker Posey also makes an appearance.
Alexa+ is scary
In one of the many AI-related ads, Chris Hemsworth and his wife, Elsa Pataky, star in a commercial where he’s weary about having a new Alexa+ system in the house. In a fun twist on AI becoming a killer, Hemsworth gets paranoid about all the ways Alexa+ might murder him.
These are just a few of our favorites. What were some of YOUR favorites from last night’s game? To check out the full list of commercials, you can watch them all on Business Insider HERE.
