Interviews: Gabriel Basso, Genesis Rodriguez and more discuss season three of The Night Agent
Every streaming platform has its own espionage shows. Some are mature and based in reality, while others are over-the-top and border on science fiction. Netflix had two such series over the last few years, but the Noah Centineo-led The Recruit didn’t make it past its sophomore run. On the backs of fan favorite stars Gabriel Basso and Lucianne Buchanan, The Night Agent has stuck around and, despite losing Buchanan, is better than ever with this new season (read our review).
Coming off the explosive events of Season Two, Night Agent Peter Sutherland is called in to track down a young Treasury Agent who fled to Istanbul with sensitive government intel after killing his boss. This kicks off a sequence of events in which Peter investigates a dark-money network while avoiding its paid assassins, putting him on a collision course with a relentless journalist. Working together, they uncover buried secrets and old grudges that threaten to bring the government to its knees – and get them both killed in the process.
I talked with three of the stars of the new season of The Night Agent. Star Gabriel Basso discussed how this season differs from the first two and what it was like having a completely new set of actors join the cast. Fola Evans Akingbola talked about returning to the series after sitting out most of the second season, and which actors she didn’t get to work with that she wishes she had shared the screen with. New cast member Genesis Rodriguez, a JoBlo.com favorite, talked about joining the series and how well the writers develop female characters. Check out the full interviews in the embed above.
The Night Agent season three is now streaming on Netflix.
