Sharon Stone slams modern sex scenes for lack of imagination

Throughout her career, Sharon Stone has taken part in her share of steamy moments, but the actress is slamming modern sex scenes for a lack of imagination.

Sharon Stone on Modern Sex Scenes

“So often now, when sex scenes come on TV, I fast-forward. I don’t want to see it,” Stone told CBS Mornings. “I don’t want to have to go through all of this blatant, harsh sexuality. For me, it steals from my own imagination. And I prefer my yearning, mystery, desire. I want to keep that alive inside myself.“

Stone referred to her infamous blink-and-you ‘ll-miss-it nude scene in Basic Instinct. “It wasn’t even an entire frame of film,” she said. “And, so, people were desperately trying to figure it out. And I think that idea of, ‘Oh, my God.’ This hope, this wonder, this mystery, this intrigue, this yearning is something that is what all of our profound sexuality is based in.“

Euphoria

Stone has joined the cast of Euphoria, a notoriously raunchy series, for its third season. Details on her character are largely unknown, but in the recent trailer, she appeared to be playing a studio boss.

“There is little more exciting than going to work with this team of thrilling talent,” Stone said in a statement when she signed on. “From the genius of Sam Levinson to the raw sophistication of this profoundly moving cast and tight crew. I am honored to be Euphoric.” The third season will debut on HBO on April 12.

Nobody 2

She was most recently seen starring alongside Bob Odenkirk in Nobody 2. The film takes place four years after the events of the first movie, when Hutch and his wife Becca (Connie Nielsen) take their kids (Gage Munroe, Paisley Cadorath) and father (Christopher Lloyd) on a getaway to Wild Bill’s Majestic Midway and Waterpark. But after a minor encounter with some town bullies, Hutch and his family find themselves the focus of the most unhinged, bloodthirsty crime boss (Stone) he’s ever encountered.

Our own Chris Bumbray had a blast with Nobody 2. With its “propulsive pace and fun-loving vibe,” the film is “the perfect shot of adrenaline to put a button on the summer movie season.” You can check out the rest of his review right here.
