Burned bridges light the way toward the final trailer and character posters for The Devil Wears Prada 2
Who’s ready to strike a pose for when The Devil Wears Prada 2 walks down the runway and into theaters on May 1st? To celebrate the fashionable approach of the hotly anticipated sequel, 20th Century Studios is proud to share the final trailer and character posters. The new prints show Anne Hathaway, Meryl Streep, Stanley Tucci, and Emily Blunt dressed to the nines for their latest foray into the fashion world, where sharks swim, and the devil wears classic red size-six pointed-toe pumps.
Original cast members return to the runway
The Devil Wears Prada 2 reunites the original main cast with director David Frankel and writer Aline Brosh McKenna. It introduces an all-new runway of characters, including Kenneth Branagh, Simone Ashley, Justin Theroux, Lucy Liu, Patrick Brammall, Caleb Hearon, Helen J. Shen, Pauline Chalamet, B.J. Novak, and Conrad Ricamora. Tracie Thoms and Tibor Feldman also reprise their roles as Lily and Irv from the first film.
Wendy Finerman produced The Devil Wears Prada 2, with Michael Bederman, Karen Rosenfelt, and McKenna executive producing.
What happens in the new trailer?
In the new trailer for The Devil Wears Prada 2, Andy (Hathaway) returns to Runway to execute damage control as Miranda (Streep) becomes the subject of one scandal after another. While Andy devises a way to save Miranda’s reputation, Emily (Blunt) flaunts her success, taunts Andy, and makes matters worse for everyone involved.
The Devil Wears Prada is a stone-cold classic
The 2006 movie starred Anne Hathaway as Andy Sachs, a brilliant but sensible new graduate who lands a job as an assistant to Miranda Priestly (Meryl Streep), the demanding editor-in-chief of a high-fashion magazine. The film also starred Emily Blunt as Emily Charlton, Miranda’s senior assistant, and Stanley Tucci as Nigel Kipling, the magazine’s art director. The film was a huge success, grossing $326 million and earning Streep an Oscar nomination for Best Actress.
I would never survive the fashion world. Everything is so cutthroat, and the personalities are less than desirable. If my boss talked to me the way Miranda does, I’d throw hands, then walk away. I understand the world of fashion is highly competitive, and Miranda thinks she’s teaching Andy how to survive the industry like a pro, but there are better ways to mentor someone. At the end of the day, The Devil Wears Prada 2 is a great way to get the band back together for some laughs and unhealthy competition.
