LOVE, DEATH + ROBOTS | Official Trailer

Full Moon founder Charles Band’s marriage to Robin Sydney was officiated by Joe Bob Briggs

Full Moon founder Charles Band is one of my heroes, and another one of my heroes is drive-in critic and movie host Joe Bob Briggs. Those two legends collided last weekend, as Band’s marriage to actress Robin Sydney was officiated by Joe Bob!

The wedding took place at the historic Casa Del Mar Hotel in Santa Monica, California, on December 9th and was planned by Krystal Moreno from Krystal Klear Special Events & Hospitality Consulting. According to an article on People, the idea was to blend together some of the things Band and Sydney love the most, resulting in “a Magic Castle, old Hollywood concert feel with a touch of a circus.” Two Cirque du Soleil artists, a contortionist and a belly dancer, performed at the venue, as did magicians from the Magic Castle, a private club in Los Angeles owned by the Academy of Magical Arts. The contortionist performed inside an eight foot tall martini glass that was filled with flowers. The venue was also decorated with Belvedere Vodka bottles filled with twinkly lights and flowers, chandeliers, candelabras, “money-green” and “royal purple” accents, movie posters, and even Tiny Terrors figures of Full Moon characters. There was also “a prize table where the 200 guests could collect coins throughout the evening to win Apple watches, Chanel and Gucci accessories and more.” As for the food, ” guests enjoyed a plated dinner featuring miso-glazed black cod, grilled filet of beef and Japanese eggplant parmigiana. Sides included horseradish whipped potatoes, lotus root chips and vegan mozzarella cheese with San Marzano tomatoes and basil. The wedding cake was chocolate flavored with strawberries and chocolate ganache” – and the cake happens to have been made in the shape of Band’s castle in Italy.

To top it all off, Band’s son Alex, the lead singer in the band The Calling, performed the 2001 hit “Wherever You Will Go.”

Charles Band and Robin Sydney first met while working on the 2005 horror comedy The Gingerdead Man. They started dating six months after production wrapped and Band proposed to Sydney about two months after that. As Sydney explained, they didn’t get married at that time because she wasn’t ready to set a date or be called a wife. “Charlie didn’t know what to call me, fiancée or girlfriend. I knew how important it was for Charlie to call me his wife. After 17 years, on December 9, 2022, I got on one knee and proposed to Charlie, and he immediately said yes.” One year later, they got married, with Joe Bob there to pronounce them husband and wife… and after the long wait, it sounds like they really had the dream wedding.

We here at JoBlo and Arrow in the Head send out our heartfelt congratulations to Charles Band and Robin Sydney!
