Superman: Legacy welcomes Pom Klementieff & Miriam Shor to the cast
James Gunn is bringing a few of his pals from Guardians of the Galaxy over for Superman: Legacy as THR reports that Pom Klementieff and Miriam Shor are set to join the cast.
Of course, Pom Klementieff played Mantis in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, first appearing in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers: Endgame, Thor: Love and Thunder, and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. Miriam Shor also made an appearance in the latest Guardians movie, playing Recorder Vim. Exactly who Pom Klementieff and Miriam Shor will be playing in Superman: Legacy is being kept under wraps as DC declined to comment on the story.

James Gunn calls out “cameo porn,” says it’s “one of the worst elements of recent superhero films”
James Gunn recently said that the script for Superman: Legacy is 99.9% complete. The film is set to star David Corenswet (Pearl) as Clark Kent, with Rachel Brosnahan (The Marvelous Ms. Maisel) as Lois Lane. We’ll also see Nathan Fillion (The Rookie) as Guy Gardner, a charismatic and slightly obnoxious member of the Green Lantern Corps; Isabela Merced (Dora and the Lost City of Gold) as Hawkgirl; Edi Gathegi (X-Men: First Class) as Mister Terrific; Anthony Carrigan (Barry) as Metamorpho; María Gabriela de Faría (Deadly Class) as The Engineer, a member of The Authority; Sara Sampaio (At Midnight) as Eve Teschmacher; and Skyler Gisondo (The Righteous Gemstones) as Jimmy Olsen. Nicholas Hoult is also set to appear as Lex Luthor, which Gunn finally confirmed earlier this week.
That’s quite the stacked cast, and while I’m sure at least a few of these characters will only be making small appearances at this point, I do worry that it feels like a bit much all at once. However, Gunn recently called out the “cameo porn” in recent comic-book movies, which leaves me hopeful that all these characters won’t just be shoehorned in for the sake of it. “I call that ‘cameo porn’ and it has been one of the worst elements of recent superhero films,” Gunn said. “If a character is in a film, they have to have a reason to be there story-wise.“
Co-chair of DC Studios Peter Safran has also teased that Superman: Legacy will not be an origin story and will focus on “Superman balancing his Kryptonian heritage with his human upbringing. Superman represents truth, justice and the American way. He is kindness in a world that thinks of kindness as old fashioned.” Superman: Legacy is slated to hit theaters on July 11, 2025.
