Swapped: Michael B. Jordan and Juno Temple to co-star in Netflix and Skydance’s body swap animated comedy

Netflix and Skydance Animation are joining forces with Michael B. Jordan (Black Panther, Sinners, Creed) and Juno Temple (Ted Lasso, Roofman, Year One) for Swapped, an animated comedy with, you guessed it, a body swap mechanic. The project is helmed by Tangled director Nathan Greno, who will direct from a screenplay by John Whittington, Christian Magalhaes, and Robert Snow, based on a story by John Whittington, Adam Karp, Christian Magalhaes, Robert Snow, and Nathan Greno.

The official synopsis for Swapped reads: A buddy comedy about a small woodland creature (voiced by Michael B. Jordan) and a majestic bird (voiced by Juno Temple)—natural sworn enemies of The Valley—who suddenly swap bodies and must team up (while walking in each other’s feathers and fur) to survive the wildest adventure of their lives.

“Swapped is an unpredictable, emotional ride — full of humor, spectacle, and heart. We drew from live-action nature documentaries, exploring the complexity of a wild ecosystem to capture something that feels vibrant and deeply human,” Greno said in a statement.

“Michael B. Jordan and Juno Temple brought such warmth and authenticity to the film. Every moment between them feels alive — funny one second, deeply moving the next. Their chemistry lifts the story and gives Swapped its wings.”

Netflix’s latest animated feature, In Your Dreams, is out now. In the film from director Alex Woo, Stevie and her little brother Elliot journey into the wildly absurd landscape of their own dreams to ask the Sandman to grant them the perfect family. When things don’t go according to plan, the duo must work together to fight their way out of a living nightmare to save their family from an unknown fate.

Like Spellbound, another Netflix animated joint, In Your Dreams confronts themes of separation and divorce. Thankfully, there’s much more to the film than salving your emotional wounds. The movie presents viewers with a grand adventure through a world of limitless possibilities, featuring plenty of laughs, familiar callbacks to childhood fears, and unbridled imagination that make it one of the best animated films of this year.
