One Battle After Another, Adolescence, and The Pitt Take Home Top Honors at the 2026 PGA Awards
Last night, the 37th annual PGA Awards announced this year’s winners, with Paul Thomas Anderson’s One Battle After Another taking home top honors, the Zanuck Award. If you’re an awards hound, you’ll know that the Zanuck is a fantastic way of gauging what will win Best Picture at the upcoming Academy Awards. While the win is not guaranteed, the Zanuck has aligned with the Oscars‘ Best Picture category 17 out of the past 22 years.
Before announcing Saturday night’s winners, the PGA announced the winners of its Children’s Sports, Shortform, and Innovation categories. Lydia Dean Pilcher took home the Vance Van Petten Entrepreneurial Spirit Producing Award, while Jessica Li received the Debra Hill Fellowship prize.

A Little Something Different
The PGA Awards are an amuse-bouche for the Academy Awards happening on March 15, 2026. As far as this year’s PGA winners list goes, it’s cool to see titles like Pee-wee as Himself, John Candy: I Like Me, Sesame Street, KPop Demon Hunters, and The Wizard of Oz at Sphere take home some much-deserved awards. The PGAs always offer a unique look at the filmmaking industry, even if the categories are more specific than traditional ones like Best Picture, Best Director, and so on.
