Ted Raimi to host interview show Your Dearest Darkest Friend on Screambox

Genre icon Ted Raimi is teaming with the Screambox streaming service to host an interview show called Your Dearest Darkest Friend with Your Host Ted Raimi – and Raimi has confirmed to Forbes that the show will be premiering sometime in October!

Your Dearest Darkest Friend

Our friends at Bloody Disgusting first announced this project four months ago, at which time the title hadn’t been decided yet. What had been decided was that Raimi would be hosting a show that will be similar to the likes of Dinner For 5, Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee, and Club Random, “but with a genre flair.”

The first season of Your Dearest Darkest Friend will consist of six episodes (30 minutes each), in which Ted will host 1-2 guests from the horror industry (actors, filmmakers, FX artists, etc.) in his haunted parlor/bar. Ted, being a self-proclaimed mixologist, will prepare specialty cocktails/mocktails for his guests. Guests will be in for an entertaining evening of conversation, libations (for those who partake; non-alcoholic drinks will also be provided if applicable), and spooky times galore.

Raimi told Forbes, “It’s an interview show coming out in October and we’re about ready to shoot it. It’s a wacky show — somewhere between Alfred Hitchcock Presents and Pee-wee’s Playhouse.” That sounds like a good time to me!

Raimi

The younger brother of director Sam Raimi, Ted Raimi started his acting career in the shorts that were made by his brother and their friends. He made his feature film debut by doing body double (or “Fake Shemp”) work in The Evil Dead, and has racked up more than 100 screen acting credits over the decades.

Those credits include Crimewave, Thou Shalt Not Kill… Except, Evil Dead II, Blood Rage, Intruder, Easy Wheels, Shocker, Darkman, Lunatics: A Love Story, Twin Peaks, Eddie Presley, Patriot Games, Candyman, Army of Darkness, Maniac Cop 3, Hard Target, Skinner, Clear and Present Danger, SeaQuest 2032, Apollo 11, Wishmaster, Hercules: The Legendary Journeys, Xena: Warrior Princess, The Grudge, Man with the Screaming Brain, My Name Is Bruce, the Spider-Man trilogy, The Midnight Meat Train, Drag Me to Hell, Ash vs. Evil Dead, Attack of the 50 Foot Cheerleader, Supernatural, Creepshow, Warpath, and a whole lot more.

Screambox subscriptions start at $6.66 for the first three months.
