R.L. Stine’s Pumpkinhead 2 is coming to Tubi in October
The Netflix streaming service plans to continue building out their Fear Street franchise, based on the works of author R.L. Stine. Disney+ recently cancelled their Stine-inspired Goosebumps TV series after two seasons. And last October, another streaming service got in on the Stine action: the free service Tubi! R.L. Stine’s Pumpkinhead, which was inspired by Stine’s The Haunting Hour, received a Tubi release just in time for Halloween and landed on Variety’s Streaming Original Movies Chart, which ranks the most-watched streaming originals every week. So now, a sequel is on the way! R.L. Stine’s Pumpkinhead 2 will be released during the “Terror on Tubi” event in October 2026.
Sequel
Written and directed by Jem Garrard (the Tubi Originals Slay, Takeout, Invasive, and Invasive 2: Getaway), R.L. Stine’s Pumpkinhead centered on teenage Sam, whose family’s move to Redhaven is made worse when his brother Finn disappears — and no one else remembers that he existed. Sam joins friend Becka and eccentric Rusty in the race to find Finn and break a harvest curse before Halloween ends.
Garrard is back at the helm for R.L. Stine’s Pumpkinhead 2. Lonely and bullied at school, Evan discovers a forbidden spellbook and unknowingly revives the ancient curse of Redhaven. Soon, the pumpkin-headed children from past sacrifices rise from the ground with a plan to claim the town during its Harvest Festival. As the event approaches, the only hope for Redhaven may be the return of a misunderstood witch determined to destroy the book and end the curse for good.
