Sniper: No Nation exclusive clip – Watch the first 10 minutes of the action sequel right here!

A while back, we shared a Best Movie You Never Saw video on the action thriller Sniper, which was given a theatrical release in 1993 and spawned a direct-to-video franchise that is continuing to this day. In fact, the twelfth film in the franchise, Sniper: No Nation, was just given a DVD and digital release today – and to mark the occasion, we’re proud to share an EXCLUSIVE clip from the film! This is an extended preview showing the 10-minute opening sequence, and you can check it out in the embed above.

What is Sniper: No Nation about?

The feature directorial debut of Sniper: The Last Stand cinematographer Trevor Calverley, who was working from a screenplay by Sniper: The Last Stand writer Sean Wathen, Sniper: No Nation has the following synopsis:

A covert operation in Costa Verde explodes into an international scandal, and the U.S. government responds by disavowing the Global Response & Intelligence Team (G.R.I.T.), branding its operatives as terrorists. Hunted by the very country he served, Ace sniper Brandon Beckett goes AWOL only to learn that the Phoenix Rebellion, his last remaining allies, has been decimated by the Iron Legion, a mercenary force working for Costa Verde’s ruthless Prime Minister. With fellow soldiers imprisoned and scheduled for public execution, Brandon reunites with his father, legendary sniper Thomas Beckett, brother-in-arms Agent Zero, and a handful of rebels for an off-the-books rescue mission against impossible odds. As time runs out for his friends and global tensions rise, Brandon faces his most dangerous fight yet — without a flag, without backup, and without mercy.

The film stars franchise regulars Chad Michael Collins and Ryan Robbins, with Oscar-nominated and Emmy-winning actor Tom Berenger returning to the franchise as Thomas Beckett.

The Sniper franchise

Tom Berenger took on the lead role of sniper Thomas Beckett in the original film, and came back for Sniper 2 (2002) and Sniper 3 (2004).

As of 2011’s Sniper: Reloaded, Thomas’s son Brandon, played by Chad Michael Collins, became the lead character in the franchise, and his story has continued through Sniper: Legacy (2014), Sniper: Ghost Shooter (2016), Sniper: Ultimate Kill (2017), Sniper: Assassin’s End (2020), Sniper: Rogue Mission (2022), Sniper: G.R.I.T. – Global Response & Intelligence Team (2023), and last year’s Sniper: The Last Stand.

Berenger returned for appearances in Legacy, Ultimate Kill, and Assassin’s End, while Billy Zane, his co-star in the first movie, showed up in Reloaded, Ghost Shooter, and Ultimate Kill.

I love to watch a franchise grow, especially when, as with the Sniper films, they grow larger than anyone could have ever expected. So I can’t help but smile every time it’s announced that Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has decided to send another Sniper sequel out into the world. (Of course, it helps that I have fun watching all of these sequels they make.)

I have already watched and enjoyed Sniper: No Nation – and if you’d like to watch it as well, you can do so at THIS LINK. But first, take a look at our exclusive clip and let us know what you thought of it.
