The stars/filmmakers of Behind the Mask II: The Return of Leslie Vernon tell us why the sequel is FINALLY happening

There are a few films out there that mean as much to me as Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon. The idea of following a slasher villain as he prepares for his first major target is every horror fan’s dream. I credit it with furthering my obsession with slasher and mockumentary films. I’ve made multiple videos on our JoBlo Horror Originals YouTube channel on the film (with another releasing soon). So it was a real “pinch me” moment finding out that not only would I get to interview the filmmakers and cast, but that it was for the announcement of a sequel.

I talked with stars Nathan Baesel and Angela Goethals about what it’s like to return to these roles after all these years. They have such a fun chemistry together that I really hope they get some prominent scenes together in the sequel. Nathan also gets into whether he regrets going barefoot in the final act of the film (so we’ll see if Leslie gets shoes in the new one). Then director Scott Glosserman, writer David J. Stieve, and producer Aaron B. Koontz got into what we might expect from the new film. They also get into why they felt now was the time to get this project off the ground, and whether the comic book will be canon to the series anymore.
