Sam Raimi’s Send Help will land on Hulu at the start of May

Sam Raimi’s return to horror

Rachel McAdams reteamed with Sam Raimi after he promised to utilize her more after she wasn’t given much to do in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. McAdams would take the lead in the 20th Century Studios horror thriller Send Help, produced and directed by Raimi. McAdams was joined in the cast by Dylan O’Brien (The Maze Runner), Chris Pang (Interior Chinatown), and Dennis Haysbert (24). Filming began in early February 2025, putting the film on track for a January 30th, 2026 theatrical release. It has done well at the box office, earning almost $94 million worldwide, and racked up some good reviews (you can read our 8/10 review HERE).

Stream on Hulu

20th Century Studios and Seachlight Pictures films usually stream on the Hulu platform, either straight away or after their theatrical windows. So, now that Send Help has done good business at the box office, Hulu has announced that the Sam Raimi thriller will be available to watch on the normal platform and on Hulu on Disney+ starting May 7.

The press release reads,
From acclaimed filmmaker Sam Raimi, SEND HELP flips workplace power dynamics into a darkly comedic survival story. When a ruthless boss and her overlooked employee are stranded on a deserted island after a plane crash, their roles quickly reverse. Rachel McAdams and Dylan O’Brien anchor the film and deliver a volatile, often darkly funny clash as the two battle for control – and survival.

Critics have praised the film’s sharp blend of tension and humor, earning a 93% Certified Fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes®. Reviewers highlight its escalating power struggle, shifting alliances, and Raimi’s signature mix of mischief and menace. With striking cinematography and a propulsive score by Danny Elfman, SEND HELP delivers a taut, character-driven psychological thriller with a wicked edge.

Why no Bruce Campbell?

Sam Raimi is a loyal director to his friend Bruce Campbell and the Evil Dead duo usually find ways to work out a cameo appearance in whatever film Raimi is doing. Unfortunately, Campbell wasn’t able to film a cameo for Send Help as he explained to Forbes, “We were going to shoot one day of golfing — something at a golf club just for a day — and then Sam was like, ‘We can’t. We don’t have time for that. So, just send me some pretty pictures.’ So, it just turned into that.”
