Hide Your Gold — Leprechaun getting a 4K release from Lionsgate
Most of our favourite horror franchises have made the leap to 4K, including Friday the 13th, Halloween, A Nightmare on Elm Street, and Hellraiser, and now Leprechaun will be joining them. Lionsgate Home Entertainment has announced that Leprechaun will receive a Steelbook 4K release on March 17 exclusively from Lionsgate Limited.
Leprechaun 4K Special Features
In the horror film that launched an eight-movie franchise, Warwick Davis stars as a Leprechaun who goes on a vengeful rampage after his precious bag of gold coins is stolen. Using his magical powers to trick, terrorize, and kill anyone unlucky enough to hinder his relentless search, the Leprechaun also sets his sights on Tory (Jennifer Aniston) as she scrambles to find the only weapon known to kill this ancient monster.

Jennifer Aniston Wasn’t a Big Fan
Leprechaun was Jennifer Aniston’s first feature role, and while the film certainly helped put her on the map, it’s not one she looks back on fondly. While being interviewed for The Morning Show last year, the interviewer mentioned that he was a big fan of Leprechaun.
Aniston responded, “Oh, see, there you go. Mmm. I know! A lot of people do. I don’t know why; it’s not my favorite, but it’s, uh… listen, whatever blows your hair back, you know?” I’ve got to side with Aniston on this one; despite my love for the horror franchises I mentioned at the top of this article, Leprechaun just never clicked with me. That said, I’m glad this release will be available for fans.
Will you be adding Leprechaun to your 4K (or VHS) collections?
