Super Troopers 3 Trailer: The Broken Lizard Crew Is Back for More Mayhem
The Broken Lizard boys are back in the first trailer for Super Troopers 3, and you can watch it right meow.
All About Super Troopers 3
The synopsis reads: “When Farva’s wildly over-the-top Indian engagement to Thorny’s sister spirals into chaos, the Super Troopers must navigate Thorny’s schemes to break up the relationship, while trying to crack a pernicious new drug ring — all to save the day and maybe the wedding itself.“
Jay Chandrasekhar is once again in the director’s chair for the sequel in addition to reprising his role as Thorny, with Kevin Heffernan, Steve Lemme, Paul Soter, and Erik Stolhanske, who are back to play Farva, Mac, Foster, and Rabbit, respectively.
In addition to the core Broken Lizard crew, Brian Cox returns as Captain John O’Hagan, with Marisa Coughlan playing Ursula Hanson. Nat Faxon (Bad Teacher) joins the threequel as Captain Todd Markowski, with Chace Crawford (The Boys) playing Baker Buchanan, and Andrew Dismukes (The Second Best Hospital in the Galaxy) as Coy Burns.
“Broken Lizard has been part of the Searchlight family for over two decades, and we couldn’t be more thrilled for another entry in the Super Troopers saga,” said Searchlight President Matthew Greenfield last year. “Super Troopers has a way of making the absurd feel inevitable, and we can’t wait to bring audiences along on another adventure with these characters who leave a trail of joy and laughter, wherever their patrols may take them.“
Super Troopers 3 is set to be released on August 7.
The Super Troopers Saga
The original film was the low-budget comedy that could. With barely $3 million spent on the production, the film quickly became a profitable sleeper hit, grossing over $23 million at the box office. Reviews were…mixed, but it definitely struck a chord with a generation of fans who couldn’t get enough of the endlessly quotable comedy.
Despite the success, it took more than 17 years for a sequel to follow. Super Troopers 2 was brought to life through a successful crowdfunding campaign and released in 2018, grossing over $32 million at the box office. Thankfully, fans haven’t had to wait quite as long for Super Troopers 3. Will you be watching?
